The Golden Gate Bridge - A little dream I thought I’d share with you all! ♥

So, I’ve recently looked into the Golden Gate Bridge suicides quite a lot and the stories of the victims, and it’s something that’s really really touched me… For those of you who don’t know, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is the world’s most popular suicide site, with many people jumping off to their deaths every year… I’ve looked at some absolutely heart-breaking suicide footage too and I’ve got a new dream that I thought I should share with you all :)

Basically, I hope that one day, whether I find myself living in the USA in the future or not, I want to do my own ‘Bridge Patrol’ for a month… This is just a dream remember, not a promise of any sort! But I’m sure I could make it work!!

On average, at least 2 people commit suicide off the bridge each month and it would be the most amazing feeling to think that I’ve actually saved someone’s life or even given them a small shred of hope to keep them going. I don’t know exactly how I would go about it… Maybe by looking out for anyone straying close to the railings and giving them a smile, or spotting someone who looks alone and wandering and striking up a conversation… I don’t know, but it’s worth a try, right?

I mean I’m still at school now and I have years of education ahead of me before I can even think of doing this. By then the suicide numbers may have gone up or down and many lives will be lost during that time… But if I get there and if I can do it, boy will I be happy :D hehehe

So just something I thought I’d share with you, my lovelies! If there’s anything you want to ask me, don’t be afraid! I’m always here to listen :)

Much love and stay strong ♥ xx

Let’s take a minute to look at this suicide note… It’s heartbreaking.
Obviously this poor person has been through so so much, being disowned by their family. That kind of situation would be devastating for anyone let alone a young adult. Yet is their depression really bad enough to make them want to end their life?
Look at the words they use: ‘meaningless existence’, ‘constant disappointment’, ‘burden’… Are you really telling me that this person had NOTHING worth living for?? Are you telling me that they didn’t have at least one thing in their life to feel proud of?? Of course not! Maybe it came down to the fact that no one noticed them, that no one bothered to pay them a compliment or even greet them.
Just a ‘hey! it’s nice to see you today!’ could give someone hope, could make them feel wanted and loved, could save their life… No one will ever ever be denied that right :)
Take a minute to smile at someone who looks down instead of gossiping with your friends about what might be wrong. Say hi to the kid who sits on their own instead of ignoring their existance. Show some love and some thoughtfulness to those around you. You never know what it could lead to ♥
